My Favorite Zombie Movies

Anyone who knows me knows that I love zombies; but I got into the scene a little late because my parents didn’t want me watching the gory stuff when I was young…although apparently predator and aliens were just fine. So there I was after watching the remake of Dawn of the Dead having nightmares and thinking about how show freaked the crap out of me; and I had to get more. You will see several George A. Romero movies below because I’ve always loved his style. These are in no particular order, so without further delay here goes.

28 Days Later

The films follow protagonist Alice, an original character created for the films, who was once a security operative working for Umbrella and became the enemy of the corporation.

Zombieland

A shy student trying to reach his family in Ohio, a gun-toting tough guy trying to find the last Twinkie, and a pair of sisters trying to get to an amusement park join forces to travel across a zombie-filled America.

Shaun of the Dead

A man decides to turn his moribund life around by winning back his ex-girlfriend, reconciling his relationship with his mother, and dealing with an entire community that has returned from the dead to eat the living.

World War Z

United Nations employee Gerry Lane traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments, and threatening to destroy humanity itself.

I Am Legend

Years after a plague kills most of humanity and transforms the rest into monsters, the sole survivor in New York City struggles valiantly to find a cure.

The Walking Dead (TV Series)

Grimes with his family becomes the leader of a group he forms with some of the many other survivors whom he encounters in his quest for a safe haven. Together they are forced to survive in a world filled with zombies (aka walkers) and certain humans who are even more dangerous than the zombies themselves. The first season takes place in the Atlanta metropolitan area, and the second through fourth seasons are set in the surrounding countryside of northern Georgia.

Dead Snow

A ski vacation turns horrific for a group of medical students, as they find themselves confronted by an unimaginable menace: Nazi zombies.
