I primarily did a little snooping because of all the hype gun violence is getting these days, and wanted to see what the numbers really looked like. These stats are a few years old, but from what I’ve found they still accurately reflect trends in the US, despite slight fluctuations. For your curiosity, but not specified here, I found that the vast majority of gun related deaths are self-inflicted (suicide).
Every year the CDC releases national statistics detailing the leading causes of death in America. Listed below, are the leading causes and how many people died. The figures are from 2013, the most recent year for which complete data has been compiled. PDF is attached at the bottom for your viewing pleasure.
