Organizing Your Survival Group

Organizing Your Survival Group

I just wanted to share some food for thought. Many of us have friends and family forming our little survival groups if the SHTF; but how is it broke down. Do you have designated positions and a leadership structure, or just a bunch of pseudo wannabe snipers? I love literature, especially books on military science […]

Punji Sticks

Punji Sticks

I’ve often thought of punji sticks as the poor guerrilla’s alternative to land mines.  You got bad guys in your area of operation that need dealing with so what is a great alternative to explosions?  How about sticks?  They grow everywhere, the cost nothing, and are often undetectable.  However, there is one caveat here; don’t […]

M40 Protective Mask

M40 Protective Mask

First off, it’s not a gas mask; because it protects against more than just gas.  But in light of recent events…Ebola and such; has made me curious about the capabilities.  I visited with several coworkers that are NBC/CBRN qualified and they said our current filters would do little against biological contaminants.  According to the TM, […]

Home Made Tanks

This was too damn cool not to share. So here is an article in its entirety along with the original webiste link at the bottom. It’s impractical and I doubt I’ll ever get there, but one day I want a tank or armored car tucked away at my bunker. If you play world of tanks […]

The Winter War

The Winter War

Most of us, when we think of guerilla tactics, draw up an image of either sweltering jungles or hot dry cities. Unfortunately not many of the regions we currently live in mirror the Mekong Delta or Tikrit. For this reason I keep my ears open for other military engagements with which we can draw more […]

Urban Camo

If you live in a city then woodland camo might not be your thing…you might be going for more of a Batman look as in Batman Begins. If you are prepping to bug in then some of these patterns may be for you; after all, going out at night might be the safer alternative. I don’t much […]

Gabions

There you are looking to sand bag you home in preparation for the impending doom be it bullets or rain drops when surprise, surprise…you don’t have a pallet of empty sandbags. You approach your wife and she gives you “the look” as you bring up pillow cases as an alternative… wives just don’t look at […]

Kevlar Helmets and Bullets

Kevlar Helmets and Bullets

We’ve all seen pictures of what a kevlar helmet has the potential of stopping. While deployed the second time one of our sister companies had a driver hit in the head by the remains of an EFP (explosively formed projectile) after blowing through the side of his MRAP, and the kevlar actually saved his life. […]

Commercial Paramilitary Camo

If you’ve seen my other articles then you know I love camouflage. Here a some of the more popular commercial patterns. I’ll add more patterns as I continue to read about them. Some of these are in use in different militaries but I consider the majority of them paramilitary. Jon MultiCam   First introduced in […]

Jonathan Prusse

I’m a guy who cares about his family. I want to make sure that those I love have the tools necessary to survive. In my own life I’ve seen the benefits which food storage and self-sufficiency have provided for my own immediate family during times of financial strain. Most of my own experience comes down to farm life, foraging in the woods, scouting, military service and combat deployments; to name several of life’s major building blocks. Not only do I want to share, I want to learn; so give me your insight. And while I do my best to ensure all information is correct; let me know if any corrections need to be made.
