Somehow the media just can’t get this one right.  Oh well, right? Jon

Firearms to Violence Ratio

I have my opinion and I respect my neighbor’s belief; although he was a green beret so we share some common ideas; but I digress.  Right or left or somewhere in between; both sides of the argument have their “golden” countries that they turn to as illustrations of their point.  I’ve looked up many numbers […]

Travel Tip

Travel Tip

Tip of the day, always prepare when you go for a drive.  If it is winter do you have boots, coat, hat, mittens, maybe even an emergency blanket available should you have to push your car out of a drift or get stranded in a broke down car?  If it is summer do you have […]

Move Under Direct Fire

Vintage photograph depicting an American soldier running for cover while under fire in a Vietnamese city. Time for another except from the Soldier’s Manual of Common Tasks, Warrior Skills, Level 1.  Have you ever gone paintballing in the woods with people who have no tactical training of any sort?  You may have noticed their inability […]

Safely Pack Your Car

This first story is only loosely tied in with the theme of this article, but for some odd reason it has always made me think about packing cars safely; and the story teller was very animated and thinking about it makes me chuckle. I kid I knew in high school told me about an interesting […]

Escape a Sinking Car

Escape a Sinking Car

From the online site the art of manliness my sister sent me this link.  I’ve never been in a sinking vehicle and I cannot comprehend how terrifying it can be.  Most drivers that end up in water end up skidding off curves and going over guard rails.  According to this website over 10,000 cars end […]

10 Items to Stock Up On

My brother wrote this article for me as a response to a video he looked into.  While the video was less than impressive it did lead to some great conversation between the two of us.  Enjoy. Jon   The other day while enjoying some morning coffee and browsing the internet I stumbled upon a headline […]

Air force Rule of 3

Air force Rule of 3

While reading the book The Survivor’s Club by Ben Sherwood I became aware of the Air Force Rule of 3; which state that in a survival situation you cannot survive: 3 seconds without spirit and hope 3 minutes without air 3 hours without shelter in extreme conditions 3 days without water 3 weeks without food […]

Like a Lumberjack

I’m glad to see he is using a proper splitting maul, I can’t tell you how many axes I’ve gotten wedged, or ax hafts I’ve shattered.  invest in the right tools.  I might critique his form, bur he gets a solid ten for style.  For newbies to wood splitting here is a picture of a […]

Jonathan Prusse

I’m a guy who cares about his family. I want to make sure that those I love have the tools necessary to survive. In my own life I’ve seen the benefits which food storage and self-sufficiency have provided for my own immediate family during times of financial strain. Most of my own experience comes down to farm life, foraging in the woods, scouting, military service and combat deployments; to name several of life’s major building blocks. Not only do I want to share, I want to learn; so give me your insight. And while I do my best to ensure all information is correct; let me know if any corrections need to be made.
